Population growth, economic development, urbanisation and consumer habits are driving waste levels to unsustainable levels across the World.

It is estimated by the UN we generate 2.12 billion tonnes of waste globally pa, of which less than 30% is managed in an environmentally friendly way.

The UK Government estimates that the UK contributes over 220 million tonnes annually to this figure.

Terrae Novo will use these wastes, redirecting them away from landfill, being exported or even burned, to produce primarily Low Carbon Liquid Products (LCLP’s) including ultra-low sulphur diesel, naphtha, aviation fuel or hydrogen via a gasification and liquification process.

Waste

Plastic

It's not economical or environmentally effective to recycle some forms of plastic. This means that there are large volumes of unrecyclable plastics ending up going to landfill, being exported or even burned.

Municipal Solid Waste

Municipal solid waste (MSW) is defined as waste collected by the municipality or disposed of at the municipal waste disposal site

Wood Waste

Forest residues consist of small trees, branches, tops and un-merchantable wood left in the forest after the cleaning, thinning or final felling of forest stands.

End Products

Diesel

Low Carbon Liquid Fuel Diesel is a sustainable liquid fuel with no or very limited net CO2 emissions. Low Carbon Liquid Fuels are key to displacing imported fossil fuel volumes.

Naphtha

Renewable naphtha is an intermediary product that converts to gasoline, plastics, or feedstock for hydrogen production and it is a by-product that refineries already produce when they convert renewable feedstock into diesel.

Aviation Fuel

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is produced from sustainable feedstocks and is very similar in its chemistry to traditional fossil jet fuel.
